A boundless panorama
An itinerary capable of offering spectacular views that range from the Soligo valley to the Venetian lagoon. Broadleaf forests that provide atmospheres that are in no way inferior to those of the magnificent forests of Trentino. A path inextricably steeped in history, which harks back to when the people who lived in this area had to travel these ferries that allowed them to take the animals to the heights, where they would remain throughout the summer, and then return to the valley during the winter period.

The itinerary
The start of this route is set near the Sanctuary of Madonna del Carmine, whose presence is attested as early as the late 17th century. We take the path that climbs in the back of the restaurant, toward the forest, stopping to observe this ancient roadway, probably used to transport goods and animals to the mountain slopes. We continue until we intercept the main road and, after following it for a very short distance, we follow the signs for Monte Salvadella and take path No. 989, which climbs uphill from here. After admiring a scenic coniferous forest, the path opens onto a boundless panorama that sweeps from the Conegliano hills to Trieste. Continuing a little further into the woods we then reach the Salvadella nuova bivouac, equipped with a fireplace with outdoor grills, a stove and sleeping accommodations.
The route here continues through a wide dirt road surrounded by coniferous forests, which leave here and there a few glimpses of views down into the valley. After intercepting the signs for Malga Mont on the left, we continue straight ahead until we find the signboard for path No. 989, for Madonna del Carmine.
We then take this downhill path that intercepts ancient dwellings, which testify to the intensive use of these mountains in the centuries to come, until we return to intercept a new section of an ancient roadway, which will take us back to our starting point.
