Pianezze the mountain of Valdobbiadene
Leaving Conegliano, we begin to climb along the Conegliano hills that will take us to Rua di Feletto, from here we continue through San Pietro di Feletto to arrive then at Refrontolo.
Here turn right following the signs for Molinetto della Croda. Pay attention to the two sharp bends that will be encountered, always keeping to the right. In this stretch the vegetation increases and, especially in summer, the temperature becomes more pleasant for pedaling.
After two kilometers you will meet the Molinetto della Croda, we recommend you take a break here to admire the beauty of the place and take some photos. Starting again, you will pedal in the direction of Rolle, a small village nestled in the Prosecco Hills, from where you will be able to admire a splendid view of all the surrounding hills.
Past Rolle we will continue leaving the small town behind us in the direction of Combai. This town is famous for the delicious Marrone di Combai IGP, watch this itinerary to find out more.
From here begins the climb to Pianezze di Valdobbiadene. The gradients are never exaggerated, you always climb with a gradient that is around 8 to 10%, with short stretches touching 12-13%. The ascent is very enjoyable being immersed in the coolness provided by the surrounding woods and also being very little traffic. The only weak point is the road surface, which is not in perfect condition.
After finishing the ascent you will notice several signs providing directions to several malghe, including: the Posa Puner Refuge, Malga Budoi and Malga Mont and Malga Mariech, you can take the opportunity and stop for refreshments after the ascent!
Once you reach the center of Pianezze, the descent begins, leading to the center of Valdobbiadene. The town is home to Prosecco, an opportunity to stop and sip a glass accompanied by local delicacies.
We then continue, always facing secondary roads and immersed in the Prosecco Hills, we will pass through Corbertaldo, Mosnigo, Moriago della Battaglia and Falzè di Piave. If you want you can lengthen your ride and discover the oasis of Fontane Bianche: click here to find out where they are and what to see.
The last effort ahead is the climb to Collalto, here you will notice the towers that remain as evidence of the medieval past of these places.
Finished the short descent you will return to the starting point placed in the center of Conegliano, you have definitely deserved a spritz in one of the many places that the city center offers, see you next time!
