The highest peak in the valley
An itinerary to discover Col De Moi (1358m), the highest peak in the Valley, in an excursion capable of giving indescribable emotions, thanks to the variety of scenery crossed and the beauty of the typical mountain beech woods. The last stretch, in the ascent to Col De Moi, is particularly impassable, but once at the top, a panorama opens up that repays all the effort: a view of the Piave plain and the Belluno mountains and, in the distance, the majestic Dolomites.

The itinerary: how to reach Col de Moi peak
The start of the itinerary can be met by driving along the road to Valmareno, shortly after the village of Cison di Valmarino, and continuing straight ahead on a small road that climbs through the woods. After a series of hairpin bends and after meeting a group of houses on the right, it will be possible to leave the car at the side of the road or in the small clearing on the left to take path 1028, which you will meet after a few steps, on the right, marked by a wooden sign.
From this it will be possible to continue uphill in the middle of the forest, following the traces of the typical red and white markings imprinted in the stones or in the trunks of the trees, until we reach a fork of paths where, to the left it is possible to reach the locality of Praderadego, near which the ancient road of the Claudia Augusta Altinate once passed.
We continue to the right and, after a steep climb, we come to a meadow and from which it is then possible, after a few steps, to reach Foran fork. Here, having made a brief stop in the bench and admired the view of the valley below that hosts Cison and Follina, it will be possible to undertake the steep and impervious grassy climb to the right that will take us to our final destination: col De Moi.
It will then be possible to descend along the same path, back to the car.
From Forcella Foran it is possible to reach a large number of trails: going straight ahead it will be possible to reach the Costacurta bivouac; going to the right will instead reach cima Vallon scuro and, from here a branch of the trails from which it will be possible to reach either Bivacco dei Loff, to the right or Crodon del Gevero, going straight ahead.
It is also possible to reach Col De Moi starting from Valmareno.
